Founder's Note

Welcome to the Yanelisa Bokveld Foundation (YB Foundation), a non-profit organization that champions the empowerment of children and young people through education. Growing up in Qoqodala Village, nestled in the Cacadu region of the Eastern Cape, I have personally witnessed the profound impact—both positive and negative—that access to quality education can have on individuals and entire communities. It’s an honor to now play an active role in ensuring young people receive the education they deserve, and it is my privilege, alongside our remarkable team, to lead efforts toward creating innovative, sustainable, and inclusive solutions that drive meaningful social change.

Our deep belief in the transformative power of education fuels our mission. We are committed to providing access to quality education, a critical tool for breaking cycles of poverty and inequality, empowering young people to build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities. Our work is centered around promoting social justice through education and engaging with communities, partners, and stakeholders to create a just, equitable, and sustainable world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

At the grassroots level, we work tirelessly to impact the lives of children and young people across South Africa.
