EmpowHer: Amplifying the Voices of Adolescent Girls and Young Women through 

YB Foundation's Women's Day Campaign

This year, the YB Foundation honoured Women's Day through a campaign called 'Voices of Adolescent Girls and Young Women', aimed at amplifying the voices of women within all their diversities. As a foundation committed to empowering communities and striving for gender equality, we understand the importance of women's voices being heard and recognized in decision-making rooms.Through our EmpowHer program, we launched a social media campaign to encourage Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) to share why it is important for their voices to be heard in decision-making rooms. We understand that AGYW are particularly vulnerable to marginalization, often facing barriers that prevent them from accessing education, employment opportunities, and leadership positions.

The campaign was a huge success, with AGYW from across South africa answering the call and sharing their experiences, stories, insights, and hopes for the future. They highlighted the importance of having diversity in decision-making rooms, as well as the unique perspectives and insights that they bring to the table. Their insights were powerful and encouraging. They shared stories of overcoming discrimination and adversity, and they spoke of their desire to be included in decision-making processes that affect their lives.

Through our EmpowHer program, we continue to work towards empowering AGYW to become leaders in their communities, to encourage a culture of gender equality, and to equip them with the skills they need to succeed in their future endeavours. We want to thank all of the AGYW who participated in our Women's Day campaign, for their courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to creating a more equitable world. Their voices are powerful reminders of the need for gender equality, and we will continue to advocate for their recognition and inclusion in decision-making processes.

The EmpowHer Women's Day Campaign was an enormous success, highlighting the need to amplify the voices of Adolescent Girls and Young Women in decision-making processes. By encouraging diversity and inclusivity, we can create a future where everyone is given equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of their gender.
